Stockholm Material Hub will have the first dissemination event by hosting the fourth International Workshop on Advanced Ceramics and Technologies for Dentistry (ACT4D 2020) online meeting on October 9-12, 2020.
The workshop was initiated in 2011, in Stockholm, Sweden, followed by a second one in 2017, in Budapest, Hungary and third one in 2019, in Stockholm, Sweden. Since the third meeting the scope of the workshop has been broadened by involving topics of advanced ceramics and relevant advanced technologies. The aim is to provide a forum for multidisciplinary brainstorm and discussions between ceramists, engineers and clinicians devoted to dentistry with the focus on challenges encountered by the current and the emerging technologies, as well as future concepts going beyond the state of the art. The theme of “Net-shape digital manufacture of customized zirconia parts beyond the state-of-the-art” will be particularly emphasized in this fourth workshop.
So far, the scale of ACT4D 2020 is at least doubled in terms of several key indicators compared with ACT4D 2019: there’re 90 registered attendees from 18 countries & regions, and as for local influence, 15 attendees come from the Stockholm Region, including 11 from local SMEs. The three-day agenda involves 22 invited talks and 19 oral presentations. Invited talks are divided into five sections: zirconia dentistry, clinical digital workflow, digital net-shape manufacturing, biomimetic materials and bio-inspired processes, and collaboration in dentistry.
