New Materials for Disinfecting Coronavirus

It is known that the transmission of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) occurs commonly through respiratory droplets that may contaminate a wide range of surfaces. Disinfection after cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces is a best practice measure for prevention of the coronavirus and other viral respiratory illnesses thus lower the risk of spreading infection in households and community settings.

The aim of this project is to develop new material solutions for killing the coronavirus in air cleaned through ventilation systems, and on the surface of everyday items, such as tables, doorknobs, countertops, keyboards, toys, etc. by implementing the new disinfection mechanisms that is different from the common one using  chemicals such as EPA-registered disinfectants. This project is now seeking for industrial collaborators.  For more details please contact Jiayin Yuan ([email protected]).
